ABOUT OtakuFest
Otakufest began as UP Otakufest — a passion project created by geeks, for the geeks.Since its conceptualization in 2007, Otakufest has gone on to play a significant role in promoting the cosplay and hobbies culture to the Cebuano community.Through the years that it has showcased a variety of hobbies while housing a diverse fan-driven entertainment for all, the Otakufest community has grown from a modest number of only 300 attendees during its first season, to over 9,000 enthusiastic congoers during their latest season in 2020.
Whether you’ve only been knew to the anime community or have been a fan for years , its hard to hear hear of the infamous Otakufest. Held every February and serves as Cebu’s opening salvo for similar events, Otakufest has become the grandest and largest hobbies convention in this part of the country.
The event lasted two days. The variety of special guests, cosplayers, and online entertainers was plentiful and gave attendees a great selection of panels and other fun activities to participate in.
the maze garden were always filled with something going on. From cosplay convention to anime singing competition and noodle eating competitions and even Asian pop dance competitions.
You could roam around and find a lot of great deals on retro games, anime collectibles, manga, and cosplay props for just about any kind of fandom. Or you could just go around and get random selfies with cosplayers . You just got to appreciate the effort they make in the characters they try to portay.

OtakuFest was enjoyable. Who would have known that a simple dream to gather fans together and celebrate the fandoms they cherish the most would grow to become the premier and most anticipated cosplay and hobbies convention in the Visayas? Connecting the World one hobby at a time.
If You missed this year’s OtakuFest don’t worry , Otakufest Welcomes congoers each year every February. This is the best way to gather all Anime Lovers and Cosplayer in one Event and also the gamers at well. There is a lot more to being an Otaku and meeting people who shares the same interest and passion with is always so exciting.
OtakuFest reminds me that im not alone , and Overall its what makes this event so beautiful , it brings people together.
